Knowledge of Self
"He who knows himself knows God". This saying is true on so many levels. Knowledge of self answers the question of Who am I? Who am I at the absolute core of my being. Self Knowledge requires on going "Self Awareness" and "Self-Consciousness". A strong knowledge of self will lead you in the right direction each and every time. It will also stir you in the direction of your "What", meaning what you're supposed to be, also known as your "Purpose". But let’s stick to the “who” for now. Knowledge of self is found through self-discovery. it's simply knowing who you are and what makes you tick. In order to find out what your capable of you have to know who you are, which will require a lot of soul searching and self reflecting. Self reflecting will make you aware of your strengths and weaknesses, your likes and dislikes, what your willing to tolerate and what is considered unacceptable. What are your core values, what role do they play in who you are today. Do you need to control, alt and delete some of your habits and values that are not working for you and replace them with nourishing beliefs and systems. Only you can answer that question. This is self-awareness ladies and self awareness help eliminate self-defeat.
The better you understand yourself the less likely you will contribute to exhibiting self-defeating behaviors. The goal is for you to reach your greatest potential. What if you were the missing key to making this world a better place? What a lot of people fail to realize is knowing who you are will lead you to success. Knowing who you are will make you comfortable enough to go after whatever it is you want out of life. The biggest complainers in this world are those that haven’t a clue of their capability. We are all born equals, same brain and a belief system that we can do anything we want to do, but somewhere down the line we were told too many times what we couldn’t do that we start to believe it and our “Yes I Can” mentality turned into “Maybe not” and eventually you lose all motivation and belief in achieving the unthinkable or what some say the impossible.
We allowed others to tell us what we could and couldn't do, severing our spirits at the root. Some of us are still walking around believing things people said about us, silently wearing labels of our past. Labels that were given to us by people with authority such as parents, family and teachers. So we never questioned what they said, because of course their older and wiser so they have to be right. Right? This isn’t true. You must become an independent thinker and start to question where do people fit into your life. Who’s toxic and who’s nourishing. You must create the blueprint to who you are and what you will and will not tolerate in your life. You must envision what you want your world to look like and go after it.
You have to start being honest about yourself to yourself. Constantly questioning your actions and being open to new beliefs. Don’t be one of the people who fail to change with their environment and get stuck trying to achieve outdated goals. Our parents taught us some wonderful things, but we no longer have the barriers our parents once faced. We have more opportunities and a wealth of accessible knowledge right at our fingertips. Self-Knowledge will teach you what you are doing to hold yourself back. You will become informed and an expert on "YOU".
When you are confronted with negativity in your life you must confront it. Negativity blocks growth and progress. Just think about the art of forgiveness, when you can’t forgive you become angry, anger turns into blame, blame breads negativity and negativity turns into self-defeating behaviors. The absolute language of failure.
