Did you know that words can bless and curse you at the same time? Words uplift, encourage, inspire, empower, heal, discourage, anger, harm, hurt and offend you. Proverbs 18:19-21 (CEV) says “Making up with a friend you have offended is harder than breaking through a city wall. Make your words good-you will be glad you did. Words can bring death or life! Talk too much, and you will eat everything you say.” Words are just that powerful!
The power of words can do so much in so little time. In just one second, a remark like “You are too old to go back to school and get your degree” can bring you down, hurt your feelings, or make you want to fight just like that ;-) You can’t take words back, but you can ask God and the person you offended to forgive you. There is a saying “Sticks and stones may break your bones, but words cannot hurt you” is truly stated, but not a statement of truth. James 3:5-6 says “A word out of your mouth may seem harmless, but it can accomplish nearly anything, even destroy it!” It only takes a spark, remember, to set off a forest fire. A careless or wrongly placed word out of your mouth can do that. By our speech we can ruin the world, turn harmony to chaos, throw mud on a reputation, send the whole world up in smoke and go up in smoke with it. Words are just that powerful!
If you have been spoken to negatively with words that have offended you in such a way where you have stop enjoying life or just stop living, then ask God for guidance, wisdom and knowledge. God will direct you in the way you should go, but you have to be willing and obedient. James 1:5 says “If any one of you needs wisdom, let him ask, and God will give it to you generously.”
So remember words are like containers of power. They can change your life, direct your future, and change your destiny. God’s words carry power which can cause healing in your mind, body, and soul. It can cause breakthroughs in your health, finances, children, marriage, job, your neighborhood, and the list goes on and on. Words have Power!!!!!
The words you allow to come out of your mouth can do either two things kill or give life!
Kind words are like honey sweet to the soul and healthy to the body- Proverbs 16:24-
